In 2010 Briana suffered a career ending concussion. For several years she struggled to cope with both the physical and emotional side effects of the injury. After undergoing brain surgery, Briana is now fully recovered. She shares her ordeal educating players, coaches, and parents about concussions and advocating for better protections in the game

Briana serves at the National Spokesperson for America SCORES, an organization that aims to inspire urban youth to lead healthy lives, work hard, and have confidence through after school and summer soccer programming. America SCORES serve over 8,000 students in 14 cities at 150 different schools.

Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture

Briana was recently selected to become a permanent part of the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture’s Title IX exhibit.
